We went to Manali during Oct'09. We stayed in Hotel Beas. The hotel was awesome. Esp the location of the hotel on the banks of Beas river. The view from the balcony is mind blowing.

Great place to stay close to the centre of Mangalore. Clean a/c room with TV. Hotel has large pool and three restaurants ranging from canteen style pure-veg to more upmarket and even chinese. What ever you do, do not stay here. The hotel manager is working in cohoots with corrupt police, and there have been incidents where he has been seen to be involved with the financial transaction, after a guest was stopped and fined a ludicrous amount for riding a moped without a licence as many many people do in Anjuna.

I arrived late from the train station and went along with the taxi driver's recommendation.
