Early March stay, off-season price of Rs.700/- for Twin room. Excellent room service with brilliant food. Quiet retreat away from the main area of the city, but only 10 minute walking distance. The staff at the Hotel Tibet are very friendly and helpful. The room was excellent and comfortable and -- a rarety in India -- our sheets were changed every day. The restaurant was excellent. Believe me, I looked at 6 different hotels before coming to this one, including the adjacent Chumbi Residency. We travelled Gangtok in November 2007 and stayed in the suite room. Looked at 7 other hotels in Gangtok before choosing this one. It was the nicest of those willing to give us a double room for 700 rupees. A bit hard to find--you go up, up, up Tibet road from the main market. Their vegetable momo is delicious; the curries are good too.:) ... read more »

I stayed here for a couple of nights in March 2006. I had a double room with attached bathroom. It was meant to be Rs. 300 but I got it for Rs. 250 at a single occupancy rate.
