A gorgeous old castle converted to a hotel still owned by the Rajput family and being run by the prince - The Maharao and Maharani live in a cottage and we had tea with them. We had a fabulous suite like room filled with family photos and original furnishings - its all very Raj era and evocative, although it doesn't run as slickly as the bigger Heritage hotels - very much a family run place. The village is lovely and quite rural, worth a walking tour which takes about half a day. We stopped here between Ranakpur and Jodhpur. Ghanerao Royal Castle Rajasthan Rates and Room Information
