Really recommended - nice, friendly family that run it. Clean rooms, cheap, great food in the restaurant. Likes: Rooftop restaurant with great views of the monkeys climbing all over the Virupaksha temple. Nice cool room (even in April). Good food in the restaurant: Veg Manchurian (30 rupees) is excellent. Dislikes: He's not connected to the guesthouse, but I wouldn't recommend using Ramesh, the rickshaw driver that touts for business there. His rates are high, he spends the whole day trying to get more business out of you and he gets shirty when you find someone cheaper. 9 fan-cooled rooms with attached shower / toilet. Good rooftop restaurant. Laundry service. They'll book train / bus tickets for you (50 rupee booking fee). Gopi Guesthouse Hampi Rates and Room Information
paid 120 a night in April. Original price quoted was 150 but I was staying for a week. They tell me that they charge 250 to 300 in December / January.

I stayed here 02/07 and recommend it. The single room I had was cool and clean with mozzie net supplied rs 300.The family is very helpful and friendly and serve good chow in the roof top diner. Great views from up top also. I guess I am lucky and missed the sales attempts. ... read more »

Agreed - nice relaxed place with a good rooftop restaurant (dodgy fermented-tasting lassis though). Cool rooms even with 40 degree heat outside in end April. I paid 100Rs for single use of a double. No sign of that rickshaw-wallah, either ... read more »

Glad to hear it. I wouldn't be surprised if the guesthouse owners told him to look for business elsewhere after my experience with him. They were genuinely embarrassed at the way he'd treated me.
