This is the best place in Haridwar and a truly authentic old palace in this old pilgrims city! When I arrived there, the whole building was covered in frankincense and it looked and felt out of this world. The rooms are simple but so stylish and just beautiful. I stayed here for 6 nights in Nov. '08, and would gladly return. Current tariff was 40,000 (some rooms were more, some less) and worth every rupee. The top floor has spa services. Lovely building. Very helpful staff. The Manager Krishnan arranged a safari to the nearby Rajaji National Park at very short notice. Price a little steep, but absolutely beautiful home with terraces at several levels on the Ganga (you have a private place to take a dip in the Ganga with netting and all in case you get washed ... read more »
