Our stay at Hotel Ajanta was amazing. I loved the food and especially the coffee made my day. The rooms were well maintained and were more than what I expected. I paid 1400 rupees for a single. i stayed there for 3 nights and moved down the street one block and found a hotel, with ac, for 600 a night. the room wasn't as nice, but they did have a towel and sheets, and it was basic, clean, and safe. there was also cable tv whcih seems to be the standard even in budget rooms. ... read more »

We stayed in an aircon room (30EUR per night) and we were really happy with it. It was spotlessly clean.
It's really close to the train station (easy walking distance) and they have a travel agency onsite, which can be useful.

Stayed here on recommendation. Booked an airport pickup but it never arrived! Waited nearly an hour, and finally got into a cab and arrived at Ajanta at 1 am. The guy they supposedly sent to get me got into an accident, so they say.

Agree with the hot shower - and as Delhi was a little chilly that was very welcome.
We stayed when we were leaving India - so that maybe made the hotel less interested in us than those who were arriving in Delhi. There is a travel agency on the ground floor which seems to be quite busy organising tours.
