We really enjoyed our stay at Pearl Palace. They were very busy when we were there so were lucky to get a room (Dec 08). The roof top restaurant is lovely and very atmospheric with great views. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Rates were very reasonable for the standard especially ... read more »

by vicki278 on May 03, 2009.   Rating:
We stayed here in Dec 08, and liked it a lot. Three adults, one double room and they put in an extra bed, and it was around R850. One of the nicer bathrooms on our trip, a good room, and this hotel has heaps of ambience. Helpful staff, a small library and internet room, and a GREAT rooftop restaurant [plants, lighing, sometimes ... read more »

Clean + Peaceful

I recently spent three nights at the Hotel Pearl Palace and loved every minute of it. I agree with a previous reviewer that it is a peaceful haven. The bathroom was spotless, and the restaurant - with the best daal I had in India - is worth visiting even if you are not staying there. The food is truly outstanding. Mr. Singh, ... read more »

For the price this is a great hotel. We paid 800 rupees (16 EUR) for an aircon double and, although the room was a bit shabby and dusty, the restaurant and common room made up for it. The food was really good, but at night you had to eat in almost pitch black! Cool restaurant decor though. Good place to be if you want to meet ... read more »

What a haven after hassles in other cities! This is rated as 2 star but comparing to other 2 star hotels this was a palace. They've invested in interior which makes really nice atmosphere and though furniture in rooms might be old, everything essential is there. And the personell!! The owner really is willing to go -not only the ... read more »

This hotel is in a OK area but the staff are sooo noisy at night. Continually banging around & moving stuff on the roof! Drive us crazy. Don't expect too much. Rooms need a paint & bathroom doors are peeling. Toilets leak & taps drip all night! It's just an OK choice. The Sunder Palace closeby is nicer & newer ... read more »
Loved this hotel
by zephyr12 on Feb 21, 2007.   Rating:
Loved this hotel. It was by far the best one I've stayed in in all of India, while on a budget. I took the smallest room the hotel had, and will be sure to get a bigger one next time. I felt like I'd walked into an oasis when I got there, and Mr Singh came and picked me up personally from the train station. I would highly ... read more »

Staying here right now (Nov 2006). 400RS for a single: 24H hot water, clean room, fan, small TV. Very happy with this place. Staff is exceptional. Food is good and cheap. The rooftop is really great. A nice view and nice decorations. I can't find anything to complain about (as far as budget places go - for that matter mid-range ... read more »

Pearl Place, not as good as said. I recently stayed at the Pearl Place on the recommendations from this website and was not impressed. A four story building on a side street with rooms on the first three floors and restraurant on the roof. Fairly good condition. I was disappointed with the hotel after good reviews. Reception not customer oriented. Seems like everything I wanted wasn't available: TV to work; Credit card connection not working; power cuts. Okay, ... read more »
