Hotel Shahai Palace Jaisalmer

Shiv Street, Jaisalmer - 345001 (Raj) INDIA

Hotel Shahai Palace Jaisalmer The Shahai Palace was a very nice hotel. It is run by two brothers with their staff. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and pleasent to use. They were very hospitalitable. When we returned from a camel safari and needed conditioner, they sent one of their staff out to the market to buy it for us for cost. Their rooftop restraunt has a beautiful view of the fort and the atmosphere is very nice. The food is excellent. If you want meat, you need to ask in advance so they can go to the market to buy it fresh from a butcher. As it is a small place, sometimes the brothers are away on errands (such as buying things from the market for the hotel and guests) and you have to wait for them to return, but it is not usually very long. Something to note, the entire city cuts power from about 7:00am to 9:00am or 10:00am. During that time, when the air conditioning does not work, the room gets very hot! We found though that leaving early in the morning to see the city and the fort was cooler and more pleasent as the touts, street merchants and beggers had not yet gotten into postion to harangue tourists. Hot shower, TV on request, Air Conditioner, internet access, booking bus/trains, taxi service to train station

Just a note that the correct spelling is SHAHI Palace.... if you are googling with the wrong spelling, you won't come up with much!
