This hotel gets good reviews from Fodor's - raj era decor, rooms are large. Front desk staffed 24 hours (we checked in at 1:30am). Nice little place with two balconies on every floor facing the sea. Small restaurant on main floor, great breakfast. Room service. Hotel staff very nice and helpful. All night roof top bar right next door. I've also tried to make a booking there and couldn't - I tried because I stayed there before and actually quite enjoyed it. Very nice traditional hotel, no restaurant to speak of but a limited menu for breakfast and snacks is served either in your room or on the balconies that grace each floor of the hotel. First they claimed they took credit card then didn't. They conveniently lost my email changing my reservation to a day later and were going to charge me for the extra day if I didn't produce a copy of the email (at great inconvenience at the last minute), where it was clearly stated three times. I agree. Our favorite hotel in all of India. The public balconies were a great place to sit, relax with tea, read, watch the boats putter in the harbor. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Laundry service is perfect. Gate of India and Taj Hotel are a 5-10 minute walk down the street.
