Jagatram Niwas In the hills, off the beaten track, above Dharamsala and McLeodganj, and between Bhagsu and Dharamkot, you can find a family guesthouse run by the brothers Mohinder and Bavinder Singh. The enjoyment of my most recent stay, in July and August, was not affected by the monsoon weather - mainly due to the congenial, family atmosphere. As this is a family business, you are given a warm welcome, and are not treated just as a tourist. The Guesthouse is in easy walking distance of Bhagsu and McLeodganj - the home of the Dalai Lama. If you are looking for peace and solitude, or want to expand your horizons by taking courses in yoga, meditation or other Indian or Tibetan arts, this is an ideal guesthouse to stay in. The brothers can also arrange trekking tours and transport to local places of interest. Bed and breakfast, four clean shared bathrooms with hot water and shower, optional meals, TV and internet in some rooms, huge terraces, laundry and linen service.
