Kankarwa Haveli is a water front, traditional heritage haveli with internal courtyard run by a friendly family. We really enjoyed our stay here - great tranquil place to relax and enjoy the wonderful views from the roof-top restaurant. So close to the City Palace (see photos taken from roof-top over lake and back to Palace behind). The last two photos show our room - from the outside - entrance to our suite (bedroom with adjoining antechamber (under dome)) and the antechamber with floor divan and pillows for relaxing. Double bed in bedroom was usual western height! Very obliging staff - organised our car with driver to Jodphur via Kumblahgarh Fort and Ranakpur Jain Temple. Would definitely stay again. Large modern bathroom (but need to shower early to ensure hot water), roof-top restaurant, traditional decore with a real feel of being back in time. No TV. Just stayed here in Dec 06 and paid Rs850 for a room which i think was their cheapest. He tried to sell us the one at Rs1850 but apart from the window i couldn't see the difference.
My advice, take the cheaper room and sit on terrace at sunset for the best view of the lake.
