Okay, expensive during the Yatra

Stayed for one night during June 2009 Ratha Yatra. It was fairly clean, has ac and tv, though the tv connection was poor. It was quite a bit more expensive than posted on IM, it was about 6,000RS. The Mayfair Beach Resort in Puri is fine for a few nights. It has pretty grounds and all rooms have a/c. The “Bungalows” have large common lawn areas for 4-5 bungalows and private patios. If you are traveling on your own, you might want a room a little further away from the entrance to the beach.

Previously reviewed, but thought I'd put up a few photos. Nice place. Near the beach, some rooms with views. Two Internet cafes nearby. Good food at the restaurant. We liked that a pair of pigeons were building a nest over the buffet table, flying in and out over the diner's heads, and that the staff seemed unconcerned. ... read more »

A side note- if the season is not too busy, you can pay 200/R a day per person to use the pool. Nice break from the heat, cold beers and attentive staff. Great spa on hand too, with inexpensive massages etc. Great time! ... read more »

A lovely hotel in an excellent location with a choice of chalets and rooms. I stayed in a room on the top floor and considering the quality of the hotel they gave me a great deal as it was in July and the hotel was quiet.
