Can't understand why this hotel hasn't been listed in the hotel reviews, as it is a very popular, well known hotel in the Mylapore neighborhood of Chennai. Its a big place, set off a busy main street. Quiet, spacious and clean rooms. Would have given this place a "10", but the front desk staff were surly and sick of tourists. The room service food was also expensive for what you got and bad. On the other hand, the Vrindabhan restaurant in the hotel had excellent veg meals, reasonably priced, with excellent service. Killer coffee and rava dosas. If you get a "deluxe" room, breakfast buffet is included at the Vrindabhan: really tasty! I rate the New Woodlands an "8". 24 hour hot shower, cable TV, good travel desk (in the back, by the pool). They do not offer airport pick-up, which really isn't necessary because of the easy pre-paid taxis, 350 Rs, from the airport. New Woodlands Chennai (Madras) Rates and Room Information
