Although bordering on wetlands connected to the lake, Palmy is not actually on the Lake. In fact it is just behind Keralayam Hotel.
Although they have independent cottages, they bill themsleves as a Homestay, not a hotel. Do not expect Hotel facilities; this is a home-cooking establishment.
They have a dining room in their house, but, as we were the only residents during our off-season stay, food was brought to us at our cottage. Whilst they only really offer breakfast and dinner, they were very flexible about making lunchtime snacks. In fact they were so flexible they even cooked to our recipe a couple of times. They made copious amounts of chai for me.
There is woodland on one side, wetland at the back. It is a great place to sit and watch nature, and we must have spent a day or two doing just that.
