Maria Lodge Colaba
Overall:
Location:
Staff:
Cleanliness:
Positives: around the corner from Barista and Colaba Causeway
Negatives: roaches
I've stayed there on a number of occasions 2007 and early 2008. Its bare bones with your own shower and shared squat toilets that are at one end of the hall. I made friends with the manager and the hotel boys who where all seasonal workers from Kerala. If you feel dingy romanticism and a squat toilet are the cat's meow, then Maria Lodge is the place for you, as it was for me. The price is 550 to 900 depending on the season. It is a great location, right around the corner from a Barista and Colaba Causeway itself.
For a single person its good, but for a backpacking couple traveling on a budget in over pricy Bombay its a great deal.
