If you like a touristy resort, this is the place to be
Overall:
Location:
Staff:
Cleanliness:
Positives: the bathroom, the nice layout, the view from the pool, the cottages
Negatives: touristy, buffet only, child dancer
If you like touristy resort this is the place to be. Located just outside the village the Desert Resort did its best to re-create a Rajasthani village made out of cow-dung/mud cottages. The cottages were very nice, the bathroom was splendid. The pool looks out over the "desert". The staff was friendly and co-operative, although you would be wise to double check when you use a voucher. They stapled the wrong parts of two vouchers to each other and made us pay cash, though the credit card had already been charged through the website through we had booked. After pointing out this mistake they were quick to give the cash back even though the "office" had yet to open and they still had to check whether our claim was right.
The first negative was the buffet. Although the food was nice enough, it could have been better. That said, I should add that I am not a fan of buffets.
The second was the girl dancer, who according to me was to young to perform (under 14 y.o). I couldn't help feeling bad for her, wishing she would be in bed at this late hour and hoping she is in school at least. Why not hire an adult to perform?
