We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yatri Nivas. The staff was most pleasant and even allowed me to check email on the manager's machine. The price included a lavish breakfast buffet in a very pleasant courtyard. Our motivation for staying here was proximity to the Secunderabad Rail Station (about 10 minutes/50 Rps by auto rickshaw) and the fact that the APTDC tours start from directly in front of the hotel. Another plus was the proximity to the famous Paradise Persis Restaurant which is famous for its biryani (if you go there, splurge a bit and order from the top of the menu) and there were plenty of shops/grocery stores/pharmacies/wine shops/etc within a 15 minute walk. There's also a fast food/ice cream place right in front of the hotel. We booked one of the fancier rooms and while it was a rather pricy 2600 Rps (including tax and breakfast), the room represented good value with super comfy beds, large flat screen TVs, a daily newspaper and a generator which operated the A/C even during power outages. There are other, more basic a/c rooms available starting at around 1500 Rps.
