I had the funniest/bizarre/weirdly 'racist' experience here. It was Holi and a friend and I had got splattered with vast amounts of paint. We decided to adjourn to the Fairlawn for a much deserved pint. We sat for 20 minutes or so before a waiter lowered himself to come and speak to us (they were always rather pompous).
He looked down his nose at both of us and said, 'We don't serve coloured people in here.'
