Nice place to relax but the management dampens your spirits

Positives: Tranquality, location
Negatives: Service, Food quality & quantity
Just back from the magical land called Dooars. With the extended weekend we planned to try Dooars in monsoon. Booked Dynasty for 21 pax in AP basis for 2N/3D for INR 2100 per person with pick-up & drop at NJP station.
The hotel management suggested us not to get down at NJP but to travel to Mal Jn. (in the same train). Although the route is out of the worl beautiful but the suggestion came only after the package was fixed from NJP-NJP & the charges were paid. The hotel saved on the car charges but anyway we enjoyed the ride to Mal.
The resort is located near Lataguri market but is away from the hustle & bustle of the market area. The rooms are quite okay & have a nice view of the surroundings. The cottages are stategically positioned so that none of them blocks other's views. The toilets are clean.
First glimpse of the mis-management(?) came within the 1st hour of arrival, although we were assured that the property serves water filtered thru `Aquaguard' but we found it to be out-of-order for years & we were serves plain unfilted water. As we protested we were infomred this is the only choice or we have to buy packaged drinking water for INR 15/ltr. After much argument we managed to get permission to buy our water from local market (at normal rates). This eventually made us flash out about INR 2000 on this account. Foods are moderate in taste but the quantity is pathetic & guests are denied repeat access of certain dishes (like fish, chicken etc) in the buffet (????). Difference of INR 800/day were charged from us for using AC whereas the diiference in website is that of INR 400.
To warp up, the location is superb, magical Dooars but thw management steals you with false promises & last moment hanky panky. Surely to miss unless the management changes themselves or the property is taken over by some well managed individual/group.
