This guesthouse is not spectacular but does what it says on the tin. We had an AC room for 500rs with a view of rooftops and the river. The restaurant is OK, we found the travel desk very helpful and efficient, there is also internet access, a good laundry which is reasonably priced and a free boat ride. Guidebooks say this place doubles as a small international backpackers' city, and that's true, it's very big. Vertically big, which means walking lots of flights to get to your room (which is fine, most of us need the exercise anyway). The place was OK but we paid 650 with the promise of a TV & CD player that didn't come till after 2 days & numerous requests.
Used the travel desk to book taxi to airport which didn't arrive & the travel desk guy just argued with us & pulled a cab off the street, 45 mins after the time a pre-booked cab was supposed ... read more »
