The hotel is about 5 kms from the city centre and stands on one of the busiest roads out of the city, the traffic nevers stops. The Green makes much of the fact that it was a palace and indeed the main building is quite grand. However, the garden wing, where we had reserved a "suite", is something else. It appears to be part of the factory complex immediately behind (apparently once a film studio). The hotel may have "green" and "heritage" credentials but the rooms could have come straight out of a 1950's holiday camp. Some people may find this quaint, for the prices charged, we thought it a disgrace. Our "balcony overlooking the garden" was in fact the walkway which accesses all of the rooms on the upper floor and as such made the lounge part of the "suite" useless as there was no privacy at all. We should have stayed for 3 nights but left after 1. bath/shower, telephone, fans The Green Hotel Mysore Rates and Room Information

The Green Hotel is a former palace. It is in a good location close to the city.
We stayed in the main palace building which is peaceful and quiet.
The architecture, furniture and décor are lovely.
Red rose petals had been sprinkled on our bed and about the room, which was a lovely romantic touch!
