Rajesh makes you feel very welcome - especially if you've paid to go on one of his camel treks in the Thar Desert (they are dirt cheap!). His wife does some nice cooking if you're hungry. Slightly eccentric. Liked: rum. Disliked: 5th glass of rum. Big en-suite rooms - hot water. TV. Free rum in the evenings when I was there - too much of it for me! My wife and I stayed at Vijay's Guesthouse for two nights in late Dec 08 and thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Whilst the rooms were simple, they were very large, well furnished and provided all required facilities (including a good supply of hot water). Our double was only 600Rs with seperate western bathroom, hot water and ... read more »

He arranged our ride to Karni Mata, assembled a great camel safari & dinner, made dinner reservations for us at Lalgarh Palace, drove us to see the memorial chhatris as the cremation ground, then took us across the street to a much neglected, forgotten temple ... read more »

Whilst I totally agree with Bolebridge's posting about Vijay's Guest House I think it is worth stressing again how hospitable Vijay is to his guests. After staying there for 5 days I really felt that he had extended membership of his family, not just offered a room with hot water. Of course some people might find this a little ... read more »

Hi I see some posts on this Board about Vijays Guest House in Bikaner - it sounds great. However, I have tried to email this person using the email address on his site, and haven't received any response.

Vijay Ji is alive and well and graciously entertaining all of his guests. My contact with him was the highlight of my trip. The camel safari was stupendous complete with musicians.
